"A minor issue with my Subaru windshield getting hit by a rock turned into a 2 month issue that could've potentially been remedied within a week. However, lack of returned calls from the agents firm from someone that was available and capable of helping with this instance could've potentially made things run A LOT MORE SMOOTH. I've had State Farm since I was 16yrs old. Now, 50yrs old, and have lived in several states, so I've had my share of agents. At this particular time, and I was not aware of it (nor should I have to be necessarily) Penny had personal matters that needed to be handled (which happens). A debate of oem vs aftermarket glass with state farm and the agent, 3 windshields, a broken eyesight camera, & broken camera holder and no agent / associate of state farm to communicate my concerns, suggestions or find out when it would actually all be fixed. A little over a week with a rental after switching agents, and taking the vehicle elsewhere to have the repairs done - the broken camera and camera mounts, oem windshield installed the car is finally done. 1. State Farm Window claims is 3rd party and they do not have the capability of adjusting what they will pay out, etc. nor do they care to listen or otherwise. Unless your agent speaks with them or their contacts, will anything change. 2. I would not of called to claim a $1200 windshield repair with a $1000 deductible had I known that the windshield could be replaced for that. I would've paid completely out of pocket. However, with oem glass no one was able to do it for that amount and the Wilderness Subaru Additions apparently need oem. 3. I would also suggest that this agent and other local agents do not use Glass Doctor of Knoxville as their choice option. 10k later the car is back to what it was prior to the rock. I had to call and find someone myself to get the oem glass that they installed bad with the last install. The broken camera happened sometime between the first try and the last. The broken camera holder I am told might've happened around the same time. My Wife and my concern with staying with , Penny, is if we had these communication issues during an actual crisis / accident, it would've been that much more stressful! Stress, having to shop for my own stuff, etc. while dealing with work issues because I was unable to get there was bad enough. Dealing with my wife, child or myself being injured possibly a top of it all would not of been welcomed nor handled nearly as well in such instance. When most people call their insurance, it's generally for help associated with an accident or similar, and so that someone can help you. Not so they can tell you what to do to help yourself. Also during this time, I was without a vehicle, unable to travel which my job requires and do obviously the normal family stuff. This is partially our fault as we did not have rental coverage on our policy. If someone tells you it would be a day or two to get the windshield fixed though, why get a rental? However, since Glass Doctor created a good chunk of these issues, I kind of felt that either state farm for suggesting them or Glass doctor should've covered this after the 1st install failed. Instead I went a month and a half without a vehicle except here and there being told that my car would be ready the next day for that duration and not having it done. That also obviously affected my work greatly!! Loss sales, loss time at work, etc. None is given back nor was accounted for in any way shape or form. Being in sales myself, its a lot better if the company realizes where things went wrong so hopefully next time they can do better. Also the last convo I had with Penny went with her telling me what personal issue happened.. her mom had been in hospice. I then stated, I am sorry to hear. However, sadly the world does not stop for people to figure out their personal matters. I did not tell her to f off or otherwise."
"Joe, I wish you the best. The glass shop put in temporary glass while they were waiting on the backordered glass from Subaru and you refuse to drive it. I apologized to you that I missed returning a call that I overlooked in my messages from my team. My mom was on hospice care and I had been going back and forth out of state. My mother passed 30 minutes later, after you told me you told me you didn't give a F about my mom. I hope you never experience someone saying that to you when you have a loved one passing. I hope you find what you are looking for in an insurance agent and I'm ok with not being that agent. Respectfully, Penny"
